BudgetEasy — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the BudgetEasy app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and how it is handled.

Summary (plain language)

You sign in with Google so we can tell who you are and that you’ve subscribed.
When you record an expense, your speech is converted to text on your phone. Only the resulting text is sent to our server, which uses an AI provider to pull out the category, amount, and description.
Your saved expenses are stored on your device and can be exported to a CSV file on your device. We do not upload, read, or store your expense list.
We do not show ads and do not sell your data.

Audio recordings. Speech-to-text happens on your device using Android’s built-in recognizer. Raw audio never leaves your phone and is never sent to us.
Your expense list / CSV. It stays on your device. We never receive it.
Location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising.

Google Sign-In / Google Play Billing — for authentication and subscription payments. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
AI provider (OpenAI) — receives only the expense transcript text to perform the extraction, acting as a data processor on our behalf. It does not receive your name, email, or account ID. API inputs are not used to train models by default and are retained only briefly for abuse monitoring.
Cloudflare — hosts our backend server and database.

Account record (Google ID, email) and subscription status are kept while your account exists.
Transcript text is processed transiently and not persisted by us after the extraction response is returned.
Usage counters are kept per month for fair-use enforcement.

Delete your data: email shreyasvaidhyanathan@gmail.com and we will delete your account record (Google ID, email, subscription status, usage counts) from our server. Your on-device data is yours to delete from your phone at any time.
Cancel your subscription: via Google Play → Subscriptions.
Sign out: in the app’s account panel (gear icon).

BudgetEasy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
